Once Upon a Time...

I forgot I had a blog! Whoops! We have had a busy month. Eleanore is now standing, she has two teeth and is working on her third. She also babbles back and forth with us in our (her) own secret language. Anyways here are a few pictures of our last month.

Pie!

As it turns out Eleanore loves Thanksgiving. She ate some turkey and her favorite food mashed potatoes but her favorite new treat is pumpkin pie! Usually when we walk into the room with food she crawls over to us, stands up and waits to be fed. After I gave her a bite of pie she tried to crawl up on my lap. The second time she had pie Luke fed it to her. She got so excited she stuck her hands in it grabbed some and stuffed it in her mouth. She was pretty proud of herself!

Also, here is a picture of Eleanore and her BFF Warren... And a sneak peak of Eleanore meeting Santa for the first time!

How Exciting!

Life has been very busy here for us Olson's! Business is picking up for me! I mean like I'm starting to make a profit! Woo hoo! I guess I might have to pay Luke for his time soon? Or perhaps a batch of cookies will do! At any rate I am feeling very blessed! Luke let me go out on Sunday night to run errands and I decided at the very end to run into the local Goodwill. It's my first time going but I thought I would check it out to find some cheap white onesies. I didn't find any onesies but I found a barely used... nearly brand new sewing machine! It is so much easier to use and gives us so many more options of stitches and things we can do! So tell your friends! Buy the kids in your life some amazingly cute shirts and I will probably throw in a couple of bows on the house! Keep your fingers crossed that this works out because every little bit makes being a stay at home mom so much easier! But for now I am living my dream of taking care of my baby girl during the day and making great outfits in the evenings! It's hard work but it's awesome! Luke has even built me my own work station with new shelves in production now! Here is a picture of Eleanore modeling my latest creation!

Oh Mom!!

Ugh... gross!
So I decided to pretend I was a photographer one afternoon and tried to get some cute pictures of Eleanore. This is what I ended up with... along with a lot of looks that resembled.... are you out of your mind!!! I will post Eleanore's Halloween costume pictures as soon as I get them uploaded, although she was sick/crabby/angry tonight from her flu shot earlier in the day so we skipped trick or treating and opted to buy a bag of candy and let the baby go to sleep early. Since we did go trick or treating to see the grandparents last night I will still consider this Halloween a success!
Don't tell anyone I needed you to cut the hole extra big!!!!

Okay fine.... I'll smile!

But seriously .... Ewww!!!!

Okay... I'm smiling can we be done yet!?!

And... it looks like we're done!

Oh Boy!!

Eleanore can pull herself from sitting.... to STANDING!! In the past few days since she's been doing this we have had lots of bumps on the head but then we call Auntie Shell and Eleanore forgets what she was upset about!

Sticker Face

During the day Eleanore and I do lots of activities to get her to learn certain things. For example in our ECFE class they told us to put a sticker on her nose or ours and let her practice getting it off. We started with big stickers and have worked down to small ones. The other day we played this FUN (not annoying in the least) game. Eleanore went along with it for awhile and then she decided she would just be Stickerface. Perhaps this game is annoying but she can already feed herself Cherrios so she can't complain too much :-)

Tutus and Bows

Lately I have been hard at work setting up my Etsy site so that at night when everyone goes to bed I can do a little bit of crafty and hopefully will be able to make an extra dollar or two! So here it is! There's not much on it yet, it's a work in progress!

Welcome to Eleanore's Playroom

Since we decided that I will be staying home full time with Eleanore I've been working on a place for us to hang out during the day! So a few weeks ago I started organizing the basement and finally got that finished this weekend! Then the other night I started moving things down and it's really started to come together! Hopefully sometime soon we will be able to paint but for now it's perfect. Today while Eleanore I were out running errands we decided to get some cheap Halloween decorations to jazz things up for the season. The spider webs seem rather fitting although Luke thought I could have saved some time by just leaving the original ones that the actual spiders worked so hard on!

There is even a craft space for me! Hopefully soon I will have the tutus, hair clips, burp cloths, etc ready to sell at my Etsy store! Wish me luck!

Eleanore and the Alpacas

We had a busy weekend. We went to the alpaca farm, apple orchard, and pumpkin patch! I forgot to take a bunch of pictures but here are a few!

Every Girl Needs A Tutu

I decided last week that it was time for me to make Eleanore a tutu. She is having her 6 month pictures this time and we wanted to have something fun for those. I asked Luke what color it should be and he said we should go all out and have it be pink. So this Monday after Eleanore's ECFE class we went to the fabric store and bought the brightest pink we could find. She chewed on it so clearly I made the right choice. And then we found some bright pink ribbon so that once it's finished it will have a bow. So anyways here is a picture of Eleanore trying on her tutu so that I could get the right size! I'll hopefully be selling these in my Etsy shop pretty soon!

Our Big Girl is SIX Months Old!!!

She's pretty excited about it! She is so grown up that we decided it was time for pig tails! They are so convenient they keep Eleanore's beautiful hair carrot free.

Speaking of carrots that was the new food that Eleanore tried today. It was a hit. Although do to my little girls strong need for independence mom isn't aloud to feed her with a spoon. In fact, I'm not really aloud to help at all. She is fine with me taking whatever it is that she will be eating for the day and mashing it up for her. But they it's 'Hands off mama. I've got this!'

It's a little bit messy. We have to wash her seat cover at least every couple of days now. And the floor needs daily TLC... but it's SO much fun to do things on her own! So while Eleanore feeds herself I get time to clean up the kitchen and show her how awesome my dancing skills truly are.

This is what we are left with in the end. And this is only the first meal of the day! Luckily the pig tails helped keep her hair minimally crusty so we could hold the bath off until bedtime. She wasn't even that sticky! Although I did find some leftover carrot in her ear during our walk.

But she didn't mind! Cause we got to play outside!

Then we came home, ate a delicious dinner of squash and pears, and took a celebratory bubble bath because... Eleanore's 6 months old!
